Takeuchi Fisheries
Boiled whitebait boasting the freshest quality
Tsubakidomari Town is the base town of the Awa Navy, which was famous during the Sengoku period. It is also home to high-quality natural fishing grounds nurtured by the Kuroshio Current and the Tsubaki River, which flow into the Kii Channel.
Takeuchi Suisan is a company here that processes seafood, mainly shirasu.
President Takeuchi, who founded the company with the desire to "deliver the high-quality seafood of this town to the whole country" through his experience as a fisherman, is a tall, well-built athlete who also participates in triathlons and full marathons. His well-trained physique is reminiscent of the skill he has shown in growing the seafood processing business.
Tsubakidomari's shirasu fishing season lasts 200 days a year, which is unusual even in Japan for its length, and it means that fresh shirasu can be delivered to Toyosu Market and throughout the country almost all year round.
The high-quality whitebait caught in the best fishing grounds is transported to a processing plant just one minute from the fishing port, where it is processed with the best equipment, without losing any of the fish's flavor. One of the reasons we can deliver our products with confidence is that we use cutting-edge washing equipment to thoroughly clean the fish, which is unmatched anywhere else.
Rooted in Tsubakidomari, our mission is to deliver high-quality, quality-controlled shirasu to all of Japan.
Every word spoken by the president and staff exudes a sense of gratitude and happiness for being born in this place. We will cherish the value of Tsubakidomari Town's "exquisite boiled whitebait" and deliver it to all over Japan.
