Mori Pottery

Otani ware, a traditional craft representative of Tokushima Prefecture

Otani ware, designated as a national traditional craft, is pottery that represents Tokushima Prefecture.
Mori Pottery is located in Taima-cho, Naruto City, and owns a particularly eye-catching climbing kiln that is a nationally registered tangible cultural property.

They are one of the few potters who make large jars, and they have inherited the traditions and techniques of Otani ware for 200 years.
We were attracted to the appeal of Mori's Otani ware, which combines flexibility and innovation by incorporating the needs of each era.

Otani ware comes in a wide variety of shapes, designs, and colors. You're sure to find a favorite piece among the overwhelming number of Otani ware pieces lined up in the store.

At Awai Shoten, we will be introducing some of our favorite products that caught our eye from Mori Toki's many products.
You can also experience pottery by reservation, so please come and visit us.
