Mellow natural salt from Japan's most beautiful sea

Shikoku, the land of blue. Located in the Muroto-Anan Coast Quasi-National Park on the eastern coast of Tokushima Prefecture, facing the Kii Channel, seawater is pumped from Nakabayashi Coast, which the Environment Agency has dubbed "Japan's most beautiful sea," and slowly cooked in a traditional iron pot over firewood.


●How salt is made

AWA SEA SALT pumps up seawater from Nakabayashi Coast in Tokushima Prefecture, and slowly concentrates it in a concentration tank over 4-5 days, reducing the salt concentration from 3% to 20%. Then, impurities are precipitated in a tank, and finally, the salt concentration is increased to 34-35% in a salt-baking tank, where it is crystallized.

This is how "Awa Natural Salt" with its natural, mellow taste is completed.


During the finishing stage, we inspect the salt twice, using a centrifuge and by hand, to ensure strict quality control and deliver safe salt.


The large-grain coarse salt is cooked in a salt-grilling kettle just before it boils, and the salt concentration is adjusted to 25-26%, resulting in a milder salty taste than the small-grain type.


This natural salt made from 100% seawater is painstakingly and carefully crafted, and is characterized by its smooth texture that you will feel at the first sip, followed by a deep salty flavor that will complement any dish.


Even if you eat it as is, it will enhance the flavor of ingredients such as meat dishes, sashimi, tofu, and rice balls.
