Kiwis are grown in the lush natural surroundings of Sanagouchi Village, known as the largest kiwi fruit producing area in Tokushima Prefecture.

The well-drained sloping land and high altitude resulting in a large temperature difference between day and night make this an ideal region for cultivation, bringing out the maximum sweetness of kiwi fruit.

Hiroyuki and Misumi Higashino are a married couple with over 40 years of kiwi farming experience who we met three years ago and have been harvesting with us ever since. They started owning fruit trees in 1997 and this year marks their 27th year as farmers.

Higashino's kiwifruit is grown using a farming method called "ring barking," which allows the fruit to be grown as close to nature as possible without the use of any growth hormones.
Ring barking is a method in which the bark of a fruit-bearing tree is removed in a circular pattern around the branch, allowing the nutrients produced by the leaves to be concentrated in the fruit.

This is a lot of work and results in a smaller harvest, but the resulting high nutritional content means the fruit has a high sugar content and a very rich, deep flavor.
It is grown through natural processes so you can enjoy it with peace of mind.

~The joy of growing~
In order to deliver kiwifruit fresh from the tree, you will need to ripen the fruit yourself.
This is the origin of the name "Growing Kiwi," which is a little different from the kiwis sold in supermarkets.

[How to ripen kiwi fruit]
~How to grow delicious kiwi fruit~
1) In a polyethylene bag (such as a plastic bag from a supermarket)
Add the kiwi along with the apples.
② Close the opening of the bag by lightly tying it.
③Store in a cool, dark place at a temperature of around 15-20 degrees.

Touch the surface of the fruit and when it feels as soft as an earlobe, it's ready to eat.

<Notes>
・Do not seal in a plastic bag as this may cause the product to become damp and lose its quality.
・Do not store in the refrigerator. This will prevent the fruit from ripening.

One of the great things about "Growing Kiwi" is that you can adjust the firmness and sweetness to your liking!
Please give it a try.

The Higashino couple's kiwis are highly rated for their unique sweetness, and are sold at Yoko's Jam Tea, a handmade jam shop in Tokushima City, and
It is used in the kiwi jam made by the well-known Yamagami Fruit and Herb Garden in Sanagauchi.

In addition, the farm values its connections with consumers through harvesting experiences and other activities that allow consumers to feel the passion and dedication that goes into growing kiwifruit. This is a special product that is grown with the power of nature and great care.
