These crispy, bite-sized cookies are made using Awa-Wasanbon sugar from Okada Sugar Factory in Kamiita-cho, one of the few domestically produced sugars, and are handmade from a native variety of sugar cane called "bamboo sugar" that is still cultivated in parts of Tokushima and Kagawa prefectures. They are characterized by their refreshing sweetness.
