These crispy, bite-sized cookies are made with Awa Wasanbon sugar from Okada Sugar Factory in Kamiita Town, one of the few domestically produced sugars, and are handmade from a native variety of sugarcane called "bamboo sugar" that is still cultivated in Tokushima and parts of Kagawa Prefecture. They are characterized by their refreshing sweetness.
