¥2,500

Premium Awa Bancha is made by growing Sayama Kaori, a representative variety of Sayama tea, in the great outdoors of Kamikatsu Town, Tokushima Prefecture, over a period of about seven years. This tea is highly rare, with production volume of only about 15% of the native variety.

It has a rich aroma and a deep, solid flavor. It also has a milder acidity than existing bancha tea.

Kamikatsu Awabancha is a rare tea that is unique in the world, made by boiling organically grown tea leaves, soaking them in barrels, and fermenting them with lactic acid bacteria. This unique manufacturing method using lactic acid bacteria fermentation gives it a "refreshing sourness."

Since it contains very little caffeine, it can be consumed by anyone, from pregnant women and babies to the elderly. It is also said to be good for improving bowel movements and relieving stuffy noses.

About Kamikatsu Awa Bancha

Awabancha is a tea made in the mountains of Tokushima Prefecture that has a unique flavor, boiled, soaked, and fermented with lactic acid bacteria. You probably haven't heard of much lactic acid fermented tea anywhere in the world. It's also a lactic acid drink, so it goes without saying that it's good for your health.

As it conveys ancient tea-making techniques, it has also attracted attention when considering Japan's food culture surrounding tea, and in March 2021 it was registered as an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property of Japan.

Characteristics of Tea

Kamikatsu Awa Bancha has a "refreshing acidity" due to its unique production method using lactic acid fermentation.

Each household in Kamikatsu picks the pickles and the pickling method varies slightly, resulting in different aromas and flavors.

For this reason, we recommend trying different types of tea to find your favorite brand.

There are other features as well.

・The caffeine content is extremely low, so it can be safely consumed by babies and pregnant women .

- Contains anti-allergic ingredients that reduce allergic reactions to pollen, rhinitis, and other allergies (individual results may vary)

・Completely pesticide-free organic tea
